For a while now we wanted to visit a farm with Pixie but unfortunately, the weather was terrible every weekend. There are quite a few farms around us within an hour drive but most of them are only open on Saturdays given the nice weather, and if you wake up and see that's it's already raining you don't want to risk driving an hour with a toddler and find a closed farm.
It is hard for us to find time to spend with each other without Pixie. Since we do not have our family near us, and never had a babysitter we spend all our free time with Pixie.
Our local library organises regular free French reading session for kids. It's open for babies from 6 months. I like my little town, although it's a small one there are some nice free activities organised for little ones.
I find being pregnant an amazing experience. You share your body with a little one for nine months and it's changing your life, not only during the pregnancy. For me, this is definitely something I wanted to immortalise and to get some nice pictures for keepsake.
It's not like I have lots of possibilities to let myself go, being the mother of a 2-year-old. There is no stopping with Pixie. Even when I would like to have a rest, now she is able to give me a few directions, like mum sit and she points to the place I should move or she just grabs my hand and takes me somewhere.
I was looking forward to taking Pixie to her friends' birthday party. The week, when Pixie was born, was a busy week at the hospital, some of her friends were born at the same place just a few days apart. This year just a few weeks after she turned she was invited to a birthday party. I was very curious to see how it would turn out since I decided not to throw a party for Pixie and have just a family celebration.
Although we live on the Riviera the weather isn't always nice. During the last few weeks, we had rain and surprisingly even snow! Which happens once in a decade. Since nobody is prepared to this extreme weather life stops here. There is no public transportation and events are cancelled. We spent so much time with Pixie at home we were all ready to get out and have a nice walk.
When Pixie was just a few months old we wanted to go to the beach with her. Obviously needed some kind of protection and I thought a normal beach umbrella wouldn't be enough. We were looking for something with UV protection. And maybe something that would sort of protect us from the sand. Here you can read the next post in the series of most essential baby products.
