One of my favourite festival in Antibes is the chocolate festival. Yes, who wouldn't like to try out a few artisanal chocolate and a few other products.
As soon as schools shut down for the holidays all of the playgroups close as well. Even our favourite baby-friendly cafe was closed for a week. Which is understandable, people close their business to spend time with their family, but my very active Pixie wants to leave the house and go play somewhere.
Unfortunately France has the bad habit of giving children a lot's of sugar. Whenever they think about the afternoon goûter, they think about sweets, chocolate or something filled with artificial ingredients. Whenever they see Pixie eating dried fruits or a banana or a savoury cracker as an afternoon treat they are very surprised.
Every year there is a nice English Christmas Carol concert in our town. It's a charity event held for the Antibes lifeboat. We always attend since we moved here. This year my husband had a company event the same time but I decided that I will try my luck and go alone with Pixie. I knew that our friends would attend as well so, we wouldn't be alone - alone.
I'm sure you've seen those funny pictures around Christmas when mums come back after the kids are asleep to redecorate the Christmas tree to make it perfect.
I think I can consider myself lucky, up until now we didn't have to get ready for a certain time. She had to go to her nanny two times a week but it was fine if we were a couple of minutes late, but since it was a 20 minutes walk I could hurry a bit as well.
