Now it's our tradition to go to the Gourmet Festival at Cagnes sur Mer. This is the biggest one in our region and we prefer to go to one with many vendors. You can try a bigger variety of products and it is easier to find those vendors who are happy to introduce to you their wine and teach you some new stuff about their region.

This year I wanted to show Pixie what trick or treating looks like. We both dressed up as geishas, she only had a nice yukata on and some safety proof straws in her hair. (My husband was too afraid of her running around and falling with some real chops sticks in her hair so I had to be creative) I put on my kimono, obi, painted my face and put up my hair with some nice decorative chops sticks.

During the weekend we went to Frejus to see the International Air Festival. They had many different kites, competitions and participants from all over the world including countries like Japan and Hungary.

It was always hard for me to know what activities would Pixie enjoy at a certain age. She is still very young, but there are things that can entertain her for quite long time and she is not interested at all in others.

Ok, this might not sound like a kids event but you often realise that outdoor events on the Riviera usually have some kids activities or a playground where they can have fun! Families want to go out as well and sometimes we need some entertainment and not just parks, playdates and cartoons.

When Pixie was born, I didn't know any other mums in the region. It was hard to go out with my friends because going out still seemed a bit scary for me. It was also hard to plan because when Pixie was asleep I didn't want to wake her up and it took a lot of months till she had a routine so I could plan ahead.

We needed an easy solution for the bath time during our travels. I tried to take Pixie into the shower with me when she was a few months old, but she got very scared of the running water. It was obvious we needed a portable bath if we wanted to keep bath time a nice calm ritual. Read about our solution in the next part of my series about the most essential baby products.

We met with a friend and her daughter on Monday. The only issue with this that most places are closed here on Mondays. We would usually just go to the pushchair cafe which is perfect for kids but we had to search for another cafe this time.

During the last few weeks I got very comfortable. Sometimes we walked with Pixie to the playgroup and she had so much fun holding my hand and walking next to me.
